Leather is quite possibly nature’s most perfect material. It can be hard and durable, yet supple and luxurious. Leather is stubborn, tough, hardwearing, yet soft. It can be cool, porous, and smooth. Nature’s perfect material has an attractive surface & structure, and like fine wine, gets better with age. Leather can be treated, sewn, and adapted to suit many needs and requirements.

At W.SCHILLIG, leather is our specialty. We only accept the highest quality hides for production. W.SCHILLIG leather inspectors are sent to each tannery we purchase leather from to inspect the quality of hides before purchasing. Once purchased, shipped, and received by our factories, the hides undergo another round of inspections for defects and size. If the hides do not meet W.SCHILLIG specifications, they are sent back the tannery. Overall, W.SCHILLIG only accepts the top five percent of hides produced from any of our tanneries, and we do not use splits.
